RHEA 1 and EPAC are pushing the EPI forward

ARM and RISC-V are at the helm of the European Processor Initiative
With all the players at the EPI forum in Barcelona it is clear that the initiative is gaining ground – perhaps not quick enough for many, but step by step the developments are getting out of research and into silicon. The RHEA 1 and the EPAC are great examples.
The RHEA 1 HPC microprocessor is aiming to play a main role in the ambitions to create and HPC system by 2028. This processor carries 80 arm neoverse V1 cores, and four HBM and four DDR5 in the architecture.
The EPAC accelerator is based on the RISC-V open architecture
The EPI main goals are:
Contributing to the development of European supercomputer technologies, strengthen the competitiveness and leadership on the Eu industry and science, to develop European microprocessors and accelerator technologies.
