NTT DATA expands AI cyberdefense footprint with six new global centers
NTT DATA is ramping up its security operations for the AI era, announcing six new AI-powered Cyber Defense Centers spanning India, the UK, and the US. Four sites — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Noida, and Mumbai — are already live, with Birmingham to follow in late 2025 and Dallas in early 2026.
For eeNews Europe’s engineering and technology audience, the launch showcases how agentic AI, autonomous SecOps and hyper-automation are reshaping enterprise security architectures. The announcement also highlights concrete performance gains — faster investigations and major alert reduction — that directly impact SOC efficiency and threat-response design.
AI-driven SecOps shifts from centralized to autonomous
NTT DATA says the new centers mark a transition from traditional, centralized SOCs to a distributed and autonomous security model designed for cloud- and AI-driven environments. The company cites Omdia research predicting that autonomous SOCs will become industry standard within two years.
The facilities blend human security analysts with AI agents that triage, investigate, and hunt threats with minimal manual input. According to the company, the architecture delivers up to 60% faster investigations and as much as 90% fewer alerts, allowing experts to focus on digital forensics, containment and recovery work.
Each site is built around real-time global threat intelligence, localized threat hunting and a unified services portfolio covering MDR, incident response, threat intelligence, compliance advisory, and cloud/OT security. The aim is to give global clients 24/7 detection, response and incident management through a single integrated SecOps environment.
“Our clients’ innovation and growth are driven by rapid adoption of cloud and AI technologies that must be secured at speed and scale,” said Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services, NTT DATA, Inc. “Our expanding footprint of next-generation Cyber Defense Centers enables us to meet the rising demand for AI-powered cybersecurity services, defend against AI-enabled threats and help our clients advance their edge-to-cloud digital transformation journeys.”
Global reach with regional compliance and expertise
The four operational Indian centers expand NTT DATA’s cybersecurity network across five continents, supported by more than 40 delivery hubs and SOCs in over 50 countries. Coverage now extends to more than 1,200 global clients.
Upcoming sites in Birmingham and Dallas will strengthen regional regulatory and privacy compliance capabilities — a key focus of what NTT DATA calls its “glocal” model. The centers will collaborate with regional CERTs, NCSCs and government partners to align defenses with evolving AI and data-protection requirements.
“Today’s threat environment demands intelligent, adaptive defenses that combine global insight with local expertise to help organizations continuously reduce risks and build resilience,” said Sheetal Mehta, Head of Cybersecurity, NTT DATA, Inc. “With the addition of these AI-powered Cyber Defense Centers, we are advancing our vision of a globally interconnected cyberdefense network that combines cutting-edge technology, strategic partnerships and world-class talent.”
Strategic benefits for enterprise clients
NTT DATA positions the expanded network as a foundation for securing large-scale cloud and edge transformation initiatives. Organizations gain:
-
AI-powered autonomous cyberdefense to counter AI-driven threats
-
Regional coverage backed by global threat intelligence
-
Access to an expanded pool of 800+ security analysts
-
Continuous protection for distributed digital infrastructures
With AI-enabled attackers growing more sophisticated, NTT DATA’s latest move underscores the market’s push toward automated, intelligence-driven security operations that scale worldwide.
