Innodisk opens second phase of edge AI R&D and production centre
Innodisk has opened phase two of its R&D and production centre for edge AI development and system manufacturing in Yilan, Taiwan.
The increased production capacity will allow Innodisk to collaborate with global customers to deploy edge AI systems and boost its staff.
The company’s Aetina subsidiary recently launched its first edge AI server, the Nvidia MGX, as well as industrial-grade CXL 2.0 memory and E1.S/E3.S edge server SSDs for AI and high-speed edge computing.
The MIPI over Type-C extension patent technology for embedded cameras is a key part of the strategy for vision AI, with a focus on customisation and smaller volume production.

Innodisk is also implementing edge AI into the production centre for smart manufacturing and management, working with Aetina and the Nvidia Metropolis for Factories framework. Innodisk developed an AOI AI secondary inspection solution for smart manufacturing to enhance production line efficiency.
Its Millitronic subsidiary has worked with Schneider Electric and ASPEED Technology on a panoramic smart visualization remote management system for the plant’s data centre. This converts traditional on-site inspections into real-time remote management, displaying data and enabling remote monitoring. The iCAP Air solution, announced this year, will also connect multiple sensors to measure temperature, CO2, and other air indicators across the new building providing real-time alerts for abnormal values and facilitating prompt facility management.
