Bluefors has teamed up with Delft Circuits to deliver a turnkey quantum input/output (I/O) solution designed for the next wave of high-qubit quantum computers. The partnership integrates Delft Circuits’ Cri/oFlex® technology into Bluefors’ dilution refrigerators, therefore giving customers a complete and scalable I/O package out of the box.
The move addresses one of the toughest engineering bottlenecks in quantum computing: reliable, high-density wiring that can keep pace with rapidly growing qubit counts.
Addressing the scaling challenge
Quantum system builders face mounting pressure as systems expand from hundreds to thousands of qubits. Flexible and reliable cabling is now essential to keep development on track. By pre-installing and testing Cri/oFlex® in its cryogenic measurement systems, Bluefors promises to save customers both integration time and cost while offering proven performance.
The Cri/oFlex® solution delivers up to 50% more channels per side-loading port, enabling as many as 1,536 input or control lines in a Bluefors XLDsl system. The system adds more lines through optional KF ports, using a modular monolithic design that reduces potential points of failure. A joint research paper from the two companies has also confirmed Cri/oFlex® performance with real qubits inside Bluefors’ systems.
Industry voices
“Delft Circuits is at the forefront of flexible cabling technology,” said Rob Blaauwgeers, interim CEO and founder of Bluefors. “Our extensive testing has confirmed that their Cri/oFlex® solution delivers microwave performance on par with conventional coaxial solutions, while offering superior thermal performance. Together, we can now provide customers with a complete, future-proof solution to accelerate their quantum research and development.”
Delft Circuits co-founder Daan Kuitenbrouwer added: “Our Cri/oFlex® lines were designed from the ground up to meet the demands of scalable quantum systems, and this collaboration is a big step in industrializing quantum I/O at scale.”
The partnership strengthens Bluefors’ offering for both research labs and commercial quantum developers while also opening a faster and more reliable path to scaling.
